Delhi Blackmail Case: The practice of friendship on social media has become quite common these days. People often look for that friend-partner on this platform, who can understand them and they can openly share their thoughts with them. However, this does not happen often, because on most occasions people become victims of some kind of fraud and create trouble for themselves. In one such case, the police of the cyber police station of Central Delhi have arrested an accused who extorted money by blackmailing a woman by making an obscene video.
The accused has been identified as Sunny Chauhan. The accused is a resident of Indore in Madhya Pradesh. A mobile phone and three fake SIM cards have been recovered from it. According to DCP Shweta Chauhan, a female complainant from Central Delhi had given a complaint to the cyber police through an online portal, in which she told that in the month of July last year, she came in contact with a young man named Chaudhary on Instagram. Was.
The accused was demanding Rs 70,000 more from the woman
According to the complainant, during a conversation on Instagram, they became friends and exchanged WhatsApp numbers. After this they started talking on WhatsApp. Slowly he won their trust and then started making video calls. Meanwhile, he recorded a pornographic video of the woman and then the process of blackmailing started. He extorted Rs 1,25,000 by threatening the woman, but he did not stop there. Threatening the woman to make the video viral, he asked for Rs 70,000 more. After this, the woman complained about this to the cyber police.
Technical surveillance revealed the location of the accused
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, a case was registered in the cyber police station. To catch the accused, a team was formed under the supervision of ACP Ashok Kumar under the leadership of SHO Devendra Pal Singh. The police team involved in the investigation analyzed the alleged Instagram profile, its associated mobile number, WhatsApp number and the beneficiary of the transferred amount and analyzed them closely. From this they came to know the location of the accused and finally with the help of technical surveillance the police nabbed him from Karol Bagh area.
The accused confessed the crime
Apart from the mobile containing pornographic videos of the woman, the police also recovered three SIM cards from him. During interrogation, he confessed his crime and told that he had befriended the woman by creating a profile on Instagram. During a video call on WhatsApp, he made an obscene video of the woman and then started blackmailing her. In this case, the police have registered a case against the accused under different sections and arrested him and have started further investigation.
